Robbins Sports Surfaces

Basketball legacies and recent championship programs all have one thing in common: Robbins! For over a decade, NCAA "Final Four" contenders in both genders have made a Robbins Sport Floor System their home Court. At last count, 21 of the 27 Professional teams played on a Robbins Floor. While basketball did not begin at Robbins, their floors have made it better than ever.
Alaskan Industries, Inc. association with Robbins started in 1990. Robbins' extremely diverse product line makes our job much easier. In the synthetic side, they have weight rooms, running tracks & jogging tracks (yes, there is a difference), skate tile, tennis courts and multipurpose/gymnasium type flooring. In the wood gymnasium portion of this industry, they have no peer. Robbins has been the recognized leader in developing new and improved wood flooring "systems" providing today's athletes with much greater protection.
The diversity of Robbins' product line coupled with the extremely high quality of both their synthetic and wood floors made them an obvious choice for us many years ago and we have not been disappointed. Dex-O-Tex
Alaskan Industries, Inc. is the EXCLUSIVE dealer in Alaska for Dex-O-Tex.
While Alaskan Industries, Inc. has been installing epoxy floors since the mid 1980's, we did not connect with Dex-O-Tex until 1990. Again, the extreme diversity of their product line and the quality of the individual products is what makes our job as a contractor much easier. At last count, their product line had over 60 different systems. Dex-O-Tex has had a solution for every situation we have run into since we started working with their products.
While most of our installations of Dex-O-Tex products have been decorative type finished floors, they have many more uses. They produce the only system of stopping moisture in slabs that we are comfortable recommending to our customers. Dex-O-Tex has both self-leveling and trowel applied products for poor slabs. They have complete waterproofing systems and secondary containment systems, chemical resistant floors, electro-static floors, sanitary wall coverings, exterior decks, parking garage, mechanical room floors and an extremely diverse line of decorative floors.

Tate Access Floors
While we have done access floors for almost 15 years, it has not been consistent. Seeing the increasing need for these versatile flooring systems, we started a search in 2003 for the manufacturer with the most diverse product line and the best reputation. Tate, the world’s largest manufacturer of access floors, was the obvious choice.

Although their web site is extremely well done and their product literature is the best I have seen, neither even comes close to showing the true versatility of this line. Going to their main facility in New Jersey for training is where you really see how broad this line is. We have not come across any situation they could not handle. Any kind of flooring over any type of substrate in any kind of situation poses no problems for them.
Their quick response to our sometimes unique requirements makes our job much easier. Their production quality makes large installations a snap. The broad line makes it extremely easy for us to satisfy any request by our customers. This versatility is what made the decision easy and the quality products we have installed so far ensures to us it was the right one.
Sheridan Gymnasium

Being in the athletic flooring business, bleachers were a natural addition to our lineup. When we selected a bleacher manufacturer, we looked for a system that was as close to bulletproof as we could find. Sheridan's "Four-Horse" system offers considerably more structural strength than the competition and allows them to offer a 20-year warranty which is unique in this industry. Their larger wheels ensure no damage to our gym floors. Even their Electric Drives are tougher than the competitions.
With either plastic or wood seating coupled with recoverable wheelchair cutouts, Theater seating, and retractable Stage configurations, they had the versatility required by our small population/large geography State. We have a number of successful installations and all are 100% trouble free.
Over the years we have been contracted to repair the competition's bleachers. By incorporating Sheridan design features into our repair and replacing the drive units with Sheridan's, these bleachers remain trouble free. We are convinced they are unparalleled for strength and trouble free service.
